Significantly reduce sun damage and age spots with no downtime.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)

To reduce the brown and red skin discolouration caused by aging and sun exposure.

Intense Pulsed light (IPL) is delivered by a laser-like machine. Four or five treatments several weeks apart are usually required. It is a non-invasive procedure with no down-time required.

IPL has been very effective to:

Significantly reduce the brown and red spots associated with sun exposure or aging.

Diminish the red flush of acne rosacea.

Treat sun damage in the neck and décolleté regions.

Reduce sun spots on the back of the hands.

Treatments take only 30 minutes or less, and the majority of people can return to normal activities immediately.

The satisfaction rate is 80 – 90 per cent. People with lighter skin rather than darker skin do best.

IPL is not as effective on darker skinned people.

Treatments have no significant effect on wrinkling or textural problems in the skin.

The treatments sting a little bit, but the discomfort is short-lived. A topical anesthetic can be applied to numb the area being treated.

Following facial rejuvenation surgery, IPL can be an effective treatment to improve overall skin appearance.

Once initial treatments are completed, follow-up single treatments from time to time can help maintain good skin colour and tone.

Other treatments such as neuromodulator injections or fillers can be undertaken at the same time as IPL treatments.

IPL treatments usually take less than 30 minutes.

There may be some redness or skin flaking after the first treatment, but usually none subsequently.

Routine social, business and athletic activities can be resumed immediately.
